Disc Rotors

DBA Gold
The finest street rotors on the market, combining ultimate performance with an aggressive and purposeful appearance.
Drill holes reduce mass, lower brake temperatures and help battle out-gassing.

  • Special slots (which are non-directional and designed to work in combination with the cross-drilling) help dissipate water, dirt and dust and further combat out-gassing.
  • Slots de-glaze the pads, ensuring improved contact between pad and rotor.

Available for most popular applications including Australian and imported cars. Two-tone gold-and-silver finish for improved looks and enhanced corrosion protection. Sold individually (slotting is non-directional) in attractive DBA Gold packaging.

DBA Slotted
Designed for increased braking performance these ultra heavy-duty rotors offer additional durability and powerful stopping for a range of applications: police vehicles, taxis, ambulances, courier van’s, 4WD’s and performance vehicles.

  • Unidirectional slotting (left and right), to increase pad bite, reduce fade and deliver exceptional braking performance.
  • Slots continually de-glaze the brake pads, improving efficiency and reducing rotor scoring. They wear evenly across the brake pad faces, increasing the effective contact area and extending rotor life.
  • Slots help dissipate water when driving in poor weather, as well as pump away dust & dirt.
  • Slotting also combats “out-gassing”, where gas (from the pad bonding agents) can form a cushion between pad and rotor, greatly reducing braking power.
  • DBA Slotted provide a cost-effective solution to improve the stopping performance of vehicles, which are “under-braked” (such as many large four-wheel drives).

Available for most popular vehicle applications, including passenger, 4WD’s and performance vehicles. Two-tone gun-metal grey-and-silver finish for improved looks and enhanced corrosion protection. Sold as left-hand and right-hand discs.

What is a DBA 4000 series disc rotor?

DBA 4000 club-spec series disc brake rotors are a direct replacement single-piece disc brake rotor, designed for drivers seeking performance braking.
DBA’s unique directional wiper slot design limits the possibility of glazing your brake pads and allows for better ‘pad-bite’ under extreme braking. The wiper slot design constantly improves the disc pad friction face by wiping away the impurities, gases and resins from the friction material.
All DBA 4000 slotted series rotors feature the DBA directional wiper slot design, i.e. Left-handed and Right-handed directional slotting.

What is Thermal Stability Profiling (TSP)?

TSP is a propriety process specifically developed by DBA for improving performance of disc brake rotors: Benefits of TSP include :-

  • Improved fatigue resistance to minimise surface crazing
  • Reduced rotor fatigue during prolonged heavy braking
  • Quick replacement, minimal ‘bedding-in’ of rotors

What is a DBA 5000 series disc rotor?
DBA 5000 series are a direct replacement two-piece disc brake rotor, designed for drivers seeking performance braking.
The DBA 5000 series disc rotors consists of two main components:

  1. Aluminium hat
  2. Cast iron disc rotor

These two components are bolted together with high tensile bolts and lock nuts, hence the term two-piece rotor.

What are the advantages of a two-piece rotor?
The main advantage of two-piece rotor (with an aluminium hat) is the ability to allow the cast-iron disc rotor to expand and contract uniformly as the temperature rises and falls during brake application. The benefit of this is minimal distortion and warping of the cast-iron disc rotor.

Aircraft technology – Lighter & Stronger!
The Aluminium mounting bell (hat) is made from super-light 6061 T6 Aluminium material, as used in aircraft structural design. The thermal conductivity and high strength of this aluminium allows it to handle large temperature changes without distorting the rotor during braking application. The benefit of this is minimal distortion and warping of the cast-iron disc rotor.
